Move On
03:52
|
|||
I’m sending this out with apathy.
I’m running thin on empathy.
I should be out there running.
I should be out there screaming.
The airwaves should be breathing me.
Another dead end is testing me.
A lullaby that keeps resting me.
I should be out there moving.
I should be out there running.
Revival is what I really need.
But I know I’ve got to keep on moving.
Yes I know I’ve gotta move on.
I’ve gotta move on.
I’m sending this out with energy.
My sleepiness burned in effigy.
I should be out there running. I should be out there screaming.
The airwaves should be breathing me.
Cause I know I’ve got to keep on moving.
Yes I know that I’ve gotta move on.
I’ve gotta move on.

Emily
04:28
|
|||
I’m leaving on a plane today
that takes me far from you.
It’s not a trip I want to take.
It’s what I have to do.
I’m leaving and it’s plain to see
I don’t wanna leave you hear behind.
So while you can’t hold on to me,
you’ve gotta leave me on you mind
Cause trust me when I say
that while I am away
you’re gonna feel alone.
And all you have to do
is know that I’ll be true
and love me when I’m gone.
I’m putting us on the line.
Just don’t forget that I am yours and you are mine.
Emily
tell me that you’ll never leave me
tell me and I will believe it.
Believe in everything I say
cause that’s the only way
we’ll pick it up when I get home
just like we never missed a day
Cause trust me when I say
that while I am away
I’m gonna be alone
but all I have to do
is know that you’ll be true
and love you while I’m gone.
I don’t want to have to find
if its better to be out of sight or out of mind.
Emily
tell me that you’ll never leave me
tell me and I will believe it.
I’m putting us on the line.
Just don’t forget that I am yours and you are mine.
Emily
tell me that you’ll never leave me
tell me and I will believe it.

Featherweight
02:26
|
|||
Everything is falling apart
and I don’t care.
And it bugs the shit out of me
that I don’t care.
It’s hard to pry these lazy bones
from an easy chair.
I think of me alone
and old and I get scared.
And I
don’t know why
but I got something
that helps me
turn
this heavy load
into a featherweight.
Obey the pain complacently
in my old age.
Doubt feels like it’s gonna leave,
but it always stays.
And even though I swear I’m gonna
give up everyday.
Something gets me out of bed
to try another way.
And I
don’t know why
but I got something
that helps me
turn
this heavy load
into a featherweight.

It Happens All The Time
02:50
|
|||
I’m waiting for the day,
waiting so patiently
for things to go back to the way
they used to be for me
when I was alone at night
and quiet didn’t bother me at all.
Since she’s not around,
I’ve had a lot of time to think
and its only brought me down
But now I’ve come to realize
there’s always something I should fear more
than trying to get to ‘me alone’.
And I’ll start
by saying we fell apart
and it happens all the time.
I don’t mean to undermine
or try to make light of things
cause when she left I died
but I was talking to a friend
who said she can’t remember when
her and I were even a thing at all
and it burns
when you finally learn
that it happens all the time
and now
it’s easy to see how
it happens all the time.
Now it’s quiet once again
in my lonely room at night
and it doesn’t bother me at all
Cause I’ve learned
everyone gets burned
and it happens all the time
and now
It’s easy to see how
it happens all the time.

Bad Girl
04:04
|
|||
She’s not a bad girl, she’s just good at bringing me down.
She’s not a sad girl, she’s just happy when I’m not around.
And its my heart that’s breaking but I ain’t gonna cry.
I’ll give her love like I should because this bad girl is good.
She’s not uptight, though our friends are not the same.
When I see her around she’s always calling out my name.
I try to get in closer. She just pushes me away.
But I wouldn’t quit if I could because this bad girl is good.
All her friends keep telling me that she’s got nothing but wrong for me.
If they’re right I’d give up this fight and I’d let her go
but she’s got the hold on me.
She’s not a bad girl.

Las Vegas
04:14
|
|||
I’ve got time, I’ve got time
and a notion in my mind that we could talk
and try to push this thing along.
I got your note, got your note
and a picture book of photos to remind me
but you know it wasn’t me who had forgot.
I’ve got fears, I’ve got fears
that I ain’t known in all my years
as I drive to your new home out in the desert.
I’ve got hope, I’ve got hope
but its tied up in a rope made up of doubts
that this could ever happen to you and me.
You got a way about you that makes me fight
all the things I know for sure are right.
Even though I know why you’re not here I can’t see
how you got away from me.
I’ve got your face, got your face
in my hands but empty space is all I find
to try to help to ease my mind.
Now I’ve got doubts, I’ve got doubts
cause I’m realizing now that this won’t work
when you can’t even look me in the eyes.
You got a way about you that makes me fight
all the things I know for sure are right.
Even though I know why you’re not here I can’t see
how you got away from me.
Got my feet, got my feet
and they walk across the street to my car
but you’re not coming with me
So I’ve got tears, I’ve got tears
and they blur my rear-view mirror as I see
Las Vegas slowly fading away.
You got a way about you that makes me fight
all the things I know for sure are right.
Even though I know why you’re not here I can’t see
how you got away from me.

Let's Play Shows
03:00
|
|||
If you could see inside my head
I know that you would surely find
a thousand armies out of step
cause the drummer isn’t playing
If you could see inside my room
in the day or late at night
in a very solemn mood
all alone I will be playing.
All dressed up with no place left to go
I’m a loaded gun about ready to explode.
Let’s play shows.
I understand the necessity
of getting it all down on tape
but hunched over those damn machines
my body starts aching.
It’s enough to make me sick.
I really think I’m gonna cry.
I’m a big frustrated mess
when my band isn’t playing.
But ask me in five weeks out on the road.
I’ll be dying for time in the studio.
Let’s play shows.
It’s a really stupid way, I agree,
to never ever be where you want to be.
it’s a really stupid way, I agree,
to never be what you want to be.
