I remember in the spring back when I had no car. I'd walk all over town no matter how far singing songs with simple melodies That I'd never heard, and never will again
I sang: Everything you give room to grow goes away. I tried so hard to keep them in my head anyway.
The summer came. I met a girl. She became my girlfriend. We hit a wall and in the fall I lost her in the end. Our love was like a simple melody of a song I’d never heard and never will again. Everything you give room to grow goes away. I tried so hard to keep her in my arms anyway.

Everything you give room to grow goes away. I try so hard to keep them in my hands anyway.
The winter's here and I hear the raindrops tapping on my roof Drumming out the year, the walks, the girl and how they'd come and gone in simple melodies of songs I’d never heard and never will again. ©2017 Matthew Lyle Baxter

Too Much 04:04
I’ve got too much, more than I need Half the things that I own don’t even mean a thing to me “More and more” is no strategy To find peace of mind, its just taking a piece of me There ain’t way around it It’s time that I let go I keep trying to have it all, but I know… It’s all too much for me (Too much) It’s all too much for me (Too much) It’s hard to find simplicity I keep getting caught up in this big machine And I start to worry about everything When I stop listening to the birds in the trees I need some space around me Calm the chaos in my home This world of my creation’s overgrown. It’s all too much for me (Too much) It’s all too much for me (Too much) There ain’t no way around it, It’s time that I let go. I need some space around me Calm the chaos in my soul I keep trying to have it all, but I know It’s all too much for me (Too much) It’s all too much for me (Too much) I’m good with what I got, when I got what I need I’m good with what I got, when I got what I need I’m good with what I got, when I got what I need I’m good with what I got, when I got what I need ©2017 Matthew Lyle Baxter

Things are as good as you can possibly expect. But you keep finding being tough don’t get respect. Weakness never comes from caring ‘Cause a loving heart is far more daring. When you greet the day with your hand on your gun You will quickly find you’re not the only one. If you come looking for a fight, Then that fight is gonna come. You’d been better off looking for love.
If it’s good day to die, it’s a better day to live. When you’re doing it right, there is so much more to give. Being ready to say goodbye is really only half of it. If it’s a good day to die, it’s a better day to live. Now I’m not saying its not a hard run and its very clear you are a smart one. Nobody’s ever doubting all the trials that come your way, But how much of its unnecessary pain? If you can greet the world with your arms opened wide, Take the good and bad and brave the by-and-by, When everyone gets crazy, you won’t have to wonder why You just look them in the eye And tell them all that hey…
It may be a good day to die, but it’s a better day to live. When you’re doing it right, there is so much more to give. Being ready to say goodbye is only half of it. If it’s a good day to die, it’s a better day to live. I bet it’s a good day to die, but a better day to live. If it’s good day to die, it’s a better day to live. When you’re doing it right, there is so much more to give. Being ready to say goodbye is really only half of it. If it’s a good day to die, it’s a better day to live. ©2017 Matthew Lyle Baxter

On My Own 02:40
Shaney left us and he went to Texas Now I'm stuck with a synthesizer bassist. On my own, on my own again
The sun is shining and the cat needs fed But it ain't enough to get me out of bed. I'm on my own, on my own again
I'm a beautiful disgrace when I've got some time to waste And i've got no one to make me want to keep it in line.
Baby's working out of town for days (and) I'm at home drinking beer and eating cornflakes On my own, on my own again
I'm a beautiful disgrace when I've got some time to waste And i've got no one to make me want to keep it in line. Cause I’m on my own again…
Empty space turns quickly into crisis When I'm left here to my own devices On my own, on my own again ©2017 Matthew Lyle Baxter

Living Song 03:31
This is a living song. I hear it all day long And even though I don't know all the words, I always sing along
And it's a people thing, but not what people think. It's just a way to get love from you and me.
I hear it in my sleep even if I don't dream Like the steady humming of electricity.
Beating in my heart always Pumping through my veins I hear it all in a living song Beating in my heart always Pumping through my veins I hear it all in a living song
Oh, I feel the crescendo even though it may not be for me. Oh, through an open window it floats away...
Into a living song. We hear it all day long. And even if you don't know all the words, always sing along.
You're in a living song. This is a living song. ©2017 Matthew Lyle Baxter

released June 7, 2019

They say give credit where credit is due. To me, that place is right on the cover. Digital world be damned! I decided to put the liner notes smack dab on the album cover art because this EP wouldn’t have happened without the people who put in their time and effort to make it happen. This is was the “[United]” in my name is all about. On this EP the [United] are: Bryan “Pumba” Wartelle, drums, percussion and Cajun attitude. Dave Hidalgo Jr., for making a special trip to Yorba Linda to grab some congas to play on “Back”. Jay Stolo, recording production and creativity wizard extraordinaire of Straitjacket Studios in Fullerton, CA. Brad Simonds of Bradford Design Co. for finding a way to design with so much text. Special thanks and love always to my family, Sara, Wyatt and Emmett. And to my bruv, Nico Marks. Thank you all, from the bottom of my ❤️.
